Developed in partnership with local authorities, the Ya Shi Moya Camino is a self-guided or guided hiking route offered by Blue Nomad Travel, inspired by the Africa Wild Ultra™ trail event, and reimagined as a personal pilgrimage. This unforgettable trail experience spans 35 to 150 kilometres, charted along the very same remote mountain routes pioneered for the Africa Wild Ultra™ race.

Winding through part of the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere - a 2.6 million-hectare reserve (larger than Wales!) and recognised as the best biosphere in Africa - the route offers a diverse, soul-stirring journey. It traverses farmlands, rural villages, ancient forests, dramatic ridges of the northern Drakensberg, river gorges, and the edge of the thorny bushveld.

Hikers will pass through landscapes rich with solitude and wonder: cascading waterfalls, quiet forest canopies, and the remains of long-forgotten trade routes. Nights are spent at selected campsites, beneath the stars, immersed in the sounds and stillness of the wild.

The Ya Shi Moya Camino is more than a physical trail - it is a path for reflection, connection, and self-discovery. It invites adventurers to embrace silence, soak in beauty, and reconnect with South Africa’s raw and rugged natural spirit.
